FAAN Recognizes Tactical Controls



The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) acknowledged Tactical Controls for their system application.

Bruce Gibbens, on behalf of Tactical Controls, as well as, Campbell’s Soup Company were recently acknowledged again for our collaboration on the Barcode, Printer, & Vision system application.

Each year, FAAN recognizes individuals or organizations that have provided outstanding service or have made significant contributions to food allergy awareness, education, outreach or advocacy with the Mariel C. Furlong Award for Making a Difference.

Tactical Controls received the Mariel C. Furlong award from FAAN, in the category of Food Industry, for our quality control application.  Tactical Controls, joins an elite group of winners whose contributions have benefited the lives of millions of Americans.

Recipients of the award are nominated by fellow peers in the community who feel that an individual or organization has collectively helped make a difference.  The nominee’s contribution may have involved a single significant event or an accumulation of effort over time.

Furlong Award reflects our recognition and appreciation of your work,” – Beverly Ryan with FAAN.

MCF Award recipients are recognized for their involvement in increasing awareness and education associated with food allergies in four categories:

  • Community Service (e.g., individual, civic organization, support group leader)School (e.g., school nurse,
  • principal, teacher, school district, school staff, food service staff, school board member)
  • Health Professional (e.g., dietitian, doctor, physician’s assistant, nurse, allergist, food scientist, researcher)
  • Food Industry (e.g., food manufacturer, food service company, restaurant, grocery store)

This year’s awards will be announced during their annual conferences on March 27 in Baltimore, MD, April 24 in Las Vegas, NV, May 8 in Tarrytown, NY and May 22 in Oak Brook, IL.

This is the second award that Tactical Controls has garnered for the innovation of designing the Barcode, Printer, & Vision system application.
